Sun Safety this Summer

Summer is all about enjoying the weather and sunshine. A little vitamin D is great, but be careful! Experiencing five sunburns in life can double a person’s melanoma (skin cancer) risk.

Check out the following infographic for some tips on sun safety.


Choose a sunscreen with at least SPF 30 with UVA protection. Avoid products with oxybenzone,
an allergenic that is absorbed through the skin in large amounts and has been detected in
breast milk. Use lotion, not spray sunscreens, as sprays can be inhaled and may not coat the
skin adequately.

Use telemedicine for sunburn, swimmer’s ear, bug bites, and more.
